While it is impossible to list all that we hold to as Biblical truth, the following represents a summary of our basic beliefs as a church.
We believe in one true God who is Spirit, Light, Love, and Truth eternal, almighty, infallible, and unchangeable, infinitely wise, just and holy, and that God eternally exists and manifests Himself to us in three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit — Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Psalms 14:1, Matthew 28:19, John 4:21-24, Ephesians 1:3-14, 1 Timothy 1:17.
At Ignition Church, we have three distinct but complementary statements summarizing our beliefs.
- Statement of Basic Beliefs
This statement represents the foundational beliefs of our Christian faith from a biblical and historical perspective. It gives an overall picture of our Christian theology.
- Statement of Theological Distinctive’s
This statement captures our convictions on areas that are debated even among Bible-believing, gospel-centered churches. Though we understand not all Christians will hold these same views and these differences would never keep us from fellowship, it is important to know that we will preach, teach and counsel on the basis of these distinctives.
- Statement of Biblical Doctrines
This statement represents a full summary of the various convictions set out in the other statements.
Together, these statements communicate what we believe as a church and will therefore be foundational for our teaching, preaching, praying, instructing, disciplining and counseling.
